Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

The Electrical Engineering Program at SS-CASE-IT has an exceptional blend of theoretical research and extensive practical training to mould students into skillful professionals ready to take up real world challenges in the industry.

  1. A strong curriculum is offered by highly qualified engineering faculty with reputable accomplishments in research, academic publications, and industrial projects.

    1. Our Electrical Engineering Program is one of the first Electrical Engineering Programs in Pakistan to receive Level 2 Accreditation from the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) under the new OBE Accreditation System. PEC also has the signatory status for the Washington Accord.

    2. Washington Accord is an international agreement among bodies responsible for the reciprocal accreditation of engineering degree programs. Among the signatories are Australia, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, UK, and USA. Graduates of our BSEE Program can directly apply for jobs in these countries.

    The department has revamped the Electrical Engineering program in line with the current needs of the industry. The department now offers the BS Electrical Engineering degree with options for students to focus on areas in the IT sector such as Artificial Intelligence, Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, Block Chain Technologies, Mobile App development, and Web and Database Engineering.

Program Duration

Minimum: 4 years (8 semesters)
Maximum: 6 Years (With One Year Extension)

Degree Requirements

To earn a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a student must successfully complete the course work as outlined in degree plans (132 CH) including six credit hours of Senior Design Project and a Summer Internship of 6 to 8 weeks (non‐credited). A student has to attain a minimum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 to be eligible for the degree.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) (Pre-Engineering) Examination with Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics or (HSSC) (ICS) examination with Mathematics, Physics and Computer Studies/Computer Science with at least 60% unadjusted marks from a recognized Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination as recognized by Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).

  2. All foreign equivalent examinations like Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate Advanced Level (with Physics, Chemistry/Computer Studies, and Mathematics), British General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (with Physics, Chemistry/Computer Studies, and Mathematics), American High School Graduation Diploma (HSG Diploma), etc. must provide a certificate of equivalence with HSSC (Pre-Engineering or ICS) with at least 60% unadjusted marks issued by IBCC.

  3. Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) in the relevant discipline (Electrical / Electronics or relevant discipline as prescribed by PEC) from a recognized Board of Technical Education obtaining at least 60% unadjusted marks.

  4. B. Tech (Hons) / B.S / B.Sc. / Bachelor of Technology (with relevant discipline) or equivalent qualification duly recognized by HEC obtaining at least 60% unadjusted marks with a maximum of one-year exemption as determined by the Department Academic Affairs Committee.

  5. Rounding off the percentage figure to make it 60% will not be considered towards eligibility.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

The twelve graduate attributes in the guidelines provided by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) as per Manual of Accreditation 2014 have been adopted by Sir Syed CASE Institute of Technology (SS-CASE-IT) as Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) for the Electrical Engineering Program. It is ensured that these PLOs are achieved by Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) of the electrical engineering curriculum as redefined by course outlines and assessed through both direct and indirect methods for the attainment of the program mission.

The list of PLOs for the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Program is:

  1. Engineering Knowledge: An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

  2. Problem Analysis: An ability to identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using the first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

  3. Design/Development of Solutions: An ability to design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

  4. Investigation: An ability to investigate complex engineering problems in a methodical way including literature survey, design and conduct of experiments, analysis and interpretation of experimental data, and synthesis of information to derive valid conclusions.

  5. Modern Tool Usage: An ability to create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling, to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.

  6. The Engineer and Society: An ability to apply reason informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice and solution to complex engineering problems.

  7. Environment and Sustainability: An ability to understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development.

  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice.

  9. Individual and Team Work: An ability to work effectively, as an individual or in a team, in multifaceted and /or multidisciplinary settings.

  10. Communication: An ability to communicate effectively, orally as well as in writing on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

  11. Project Management: An ability to demonstrate management skills and apply engineering principles to one’s own work, as a member and/or leader in a team, to manage projects in a multidisciplinary environment.

  12. Lifelong Learning: An ability to recognize the importance of, and pursue lifelong learning in the broader context of innovation and technological developments.
