Islamabad. Tuesday, 5th May, Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE),
has organized the Open House showcasing the profiles and projects of final semester
students of B.Sc., Electrical Engineering program graduating in May/June, 2009.
Various organizations’ represented attended from the engineering and corporate sectors
and met the students, examine their engineering related projects to determine how
CASE graduates may be of value in helping them to meet their organizational objectives.
A diverse range of projects over 25 in number has been presented from different
areas such as electrical, communications, systems & control engineering. Most of
the projects displayed were in accordance with the demands of the industries and
organizations in Pakistan.
Some projects addressed the security issues faced in Pakistan and presented means
of providing more security into the organizational setups. The project named “Biometric
Attendance and Security System” displayed the verification of a person’s finger
prints requiring access to the organization or to some important data within the
setup. Similar kind of projects included “Face recognition based automatic Personal
Identification System” & “Automatic Number Plate recognition Systems”.
Some of projects attracted the attention of the representatives from the Telecom
sector of Pakistan. These include “GSM based security systems” in which a text message
is sent to the client whenever a security breach occurs; “GPS & RFID Based Train
Tracking Systems with GPRS” which proposes a new train tracking system in Pakistan
to provide safety and means to avoid any collisions or hazards during the journey.
Another project named “GSM Based Remote Sensing and Control” proposes a reliable
system to control home equipments remotely using GSM technology. Most of the projects
are application oriented and therefore attracted the attention of the company’s
representatives. The representatives shared their ideas with the students making
them aware of the new technologies and demands in the various Engineering sectors
of Pakistan and encouraged their work and efforts.
In today’s competitive and dynamic business environment improving the quality of
services and products is imperative to gain competitive advantage. In this area,
dearth of skilled, technical human resources remains a major challenge facing Pakistan’s
industry. CASE is one of the premium engineering and management educational institutions
in Pakistan offering Undergraduate, Graduate, and PhD level engineering education
along with a recently started undergraduate business program, BBA housed in the
CASE Business School (CBS). CASE academic model draws strength from the basic idea
of learning triangle consisting of faculty, students and the industry as the three
main players to deliver industrial development in our country.
To this instant CASE has more than 1000 students currently enrolled in different
degree programs and more than 600, who have already graduated.
CASE B.Sc. Electrical Engineering Program is offered with the two choice areas of
specializations i.e. Computer Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering. The
distinction of this program lies in the strength of modern curriculum, state of
the art lab facilities and outstanding course facilitation offered by highly qualified
engineering faculty.
It will remain open to Industrialists and general public at Sir Syed Memorial Complex,
Attaturk Avenue, G 5/1, Islamabad.
