Mr. Hammad A. Khan

Mr. Hammad A. Khan is a senior faculty member at CASE. He has extensive teaching and industry experience. His areas of specialization include design and implementation of Digital Signal Processing Algorithms and Systems, Communication Systems and Stochastic Image Processing Algorithms. He has authored and co-authored several publications in different journals and conferences.

Work Experience

Mr Hammad A. Khan has vast experience of working for multinational companies, both in Pakistan and in USA. As a DSP engineer at 3COM,USA, he developed and implemented algorithms for modems and telephony products on various DSP platforms from TI and ADI. He was also involved in the design and implementation of V.90 modem and an array of voice and video features for USRobotic devices. As Member Technical at Enabling Technologies he led DSP Optimization and Tools group. His responsibilities included customization, optimization and implementation of ITU Speech Compression standards based on CELP and its variants including G.729a, G.728, G.726 and G.723 for proprietary media processing architectures, design of modem algorithms for Fax over Internet applications, Echo cancellation, Optimizations in video codecs such as H.263, H.263+ and their implementation on commercially available hand held devices, development of IDE and debugging tools for media processors. He has also been involved in the design and implementation of high data communication receiver using the concepts of Software Defined Radio (SDR) architecture. Mr. Hammad has several years of teaching experience as a visiting faculty at various reputed institutes around Islamabad and has taught various courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
