|
Dr. Irfan Anjum Manarvi was born in Lahore and studied at Sir Syed Public School
Rawalpindi and PAF College Sargodha. He joined the PAF as an Engineering Officer
and served from 1986 till January 2008. He has traveled to China, HongKong, Germany,
France, Portugal, Spain and United Kingdom for professional assignments and research
pursuits. He is a Member of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Institute of Electrical
and Electronics Engineers and International Association of Engineers (IEEE) and
Computer Scientists (IAENG).

Educational Qualifications
|
|
He got his BE Aerospace Engineering degree from Pakistan Air Force College of Aeronautical
Engineering, Risalpur, M Phil in Manufacturing Processes from Manufacturing Research
Group and then Ph D from Design Research Group, Department of Design Manufacture
and Engineering Management of University of Strathclyde Glasgow United Kingdom.

Work Experience
|
|
He has over 15 years of Aircraft Maintenance, design, Manufacturing, teaching and
research experience in Pakistan and United Kingdom. He worked in Pakistan Air Force
as an Engineering Officer followed by various assignments of Production and Technologies
Management at Aircraft Manufacturing Factory, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra.
He remained deeply associated in Karakorum-8 Jet Trainer Manufacturing, Mirage Aircraft
Up gradation Program and Technologies evaluation and assessment on JF-17 Program.
He is also a visiting faculty member in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics
at Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad.

Research Interests
|
|
His research interests are in the field of Engineering Management include areas
like Concurrent Engineering, Competitiveness in Technology, Projects Management,
Risk Management, Technology Management. In applied Engineering disciplines his research
areas of interest include, Aesthetics in Engineering design, CAD/CAM/CIM for automotive
and aerospace applications, Design and manufacture of Mini UAV Swarms for various
applications, hydrostatic bearing design, Modeling and Simulation of design and
manufacturing processes, Sheet Metal Forming and prediction of Wrinkling, Small
satellite design and manufacture, Tolerance Allocation for mechanical parts and
assemblies. He has published a number of papers in United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal
and China
