What is the credit transfer policy of CASE?
As per CASE policy up to a maximum of 9 credit hours studied at an HEC recognized university can be transferred which are not already included in earning any degree previously. The limit of 9 credits hours also includes transferable credit hours earned at CASE through continuing education.

Will the entry test be held in other cities?
Yes, but it depends upon the number of applicants in other cities.

Will the entry test be held on the bases of old or new version of GRE?
The entry test will be held on the basis of old version of GRE as the pattern paper is available on the website.

What are the basic requirements for admission in M.Sc. Computer Engineering?
Basic requirements are as follows:

• Degree program at CASE is for those having degree of B.E (Avionics, Computer, Electrical) but those having done M.Sc. Computer science, BCS (four year), M.Sc. Physics, M.Sc. Electronics, or M.Sc. Mathematics are eligible as well for degree program at CASE.
• In undergraduate, CGPA must be 2.7 or above or percentage 68 % or above
• In case of having non engineering background students would be required to study pre requisite courses

How many credit hours can be transferred to M.Sc.?
Maximum of 9 qualified (minimum GPA of B or greater than 70% marks) credit hours can be transferred from an HEC recognized university. GPA of a transferred course does not count towards CGPA calculation. Descriptions of the courses (to be transferred) studied elsewhere must be provided. Please note that credits already consumed to earn a degree cannot be transferred.
Note: GPA of transferred course from CASE counts towards CGPA calculation (see below).

How many continuing education credit hours can be transferred to M.Sc. / Ph.D?
Maximum of 9 qualified continuing education credit hours (courses taken from CASE with GPA of B or above) can be transferred to M.Sc. / Ph.D. GPA of transferred course from CASE counts towards CGPA calculation.

Is there a time limit on the transfer of courses?
Yes, only the courses taken in the past three years before the time of registration as a regular student at CASE may be transferred. Courses taken more than 3 years before the registration will not be transferred.

What is the duration for M.Sc. at CASE?
There is no minimum duration for M.Sc. but maximum duration is four years.

What is the duration for Ph.D. at CASE?
Students are supposed to complete their Ph.D. in maximum of Five years.

What is Continuing Education program?
Continue Education is a non-degree program for working professionals who cannot spare time for a complete degree but have the intention to enhance their knowledge in their respective field. Three courses studied under continuing program can later on be transferred toward a degree program.

Is there any concession for army personnel at CASE?
No concession for army personnel particularity but you can apply either on need based financial assistance.

Is there any concession for people having intention to join CASE in group?
Fee concession can only be given to the organizations sponsoring their employees in a group. Currently, individuals can apply for fee concession to the financial assistance committee before the deadline of registration.

Will simple B.Sc. degree holder (Math +Physics) be eligible for M.Sc. program?
As per policy, having above-mentioned background is not eligible for M.Sc. degree program at CASE.

What about Distance Learning program?
Distance learning program is for those working professionals who are not able to attend classes in CASE premises due to residence at distant locations. Recorded video lectures on CD’s are sent on regular basis to distant students and they also have access to an on-line forum, where their queries are answered, while assignments are submitted through e-mail. Exams are conducted under supervision at remote locations.

Can the PGD holder in computer science / IT apply for M.Sc. program at CASE?
PGD holder cannot apply for the M.Sc. degree program. Only BCS four year or M.Sc. computer science / MS in computer science are eligible for the degree program at CASE.

Can MCS or M.Sc. Computer Science apply directly for Ph.D?
The candidate must possess at least four years Bachelor’s degree or M.Sc. degree from a recognized university in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Engineering.

Can the Result awaiting students apply for the degree program at CASE?
Result awaiting students cannot apply for the degree program. They have to complete their degree fist and then apply.

Is the person having masters degree in space science eligible for M.Sc Computer Engineering program at CASE?
No, such degree holder is not eligible for M.Sc. degree program at CASE.

What is the procedure of transferring credit hours to CASE?
Student will have to apply for the transferring of course(s) and will also provide the documentary proof of the course credits studied elsewhere. Documentary proof includes attested copy of mark sheet / transcript / course contents / description.

A PhD student for the purpose of these policies is the one who has been assigned a PhD roll number from UET Taxila and is in good academic standing.

When can I take DQE?
As a PhD student you are eligible to appear for DQE-I any time during the allowed time limit, however DQE - II must be taken after completion of 18 credit hours of course work Student has to maintain at least CGPA 3.00 out of scale 4.00.

How many chances do I have to pass DQE?
You have two chances each to clear DQE Part I and Part II

What is DQE Qualification Criteria?
DQE Part II (Interview) will be conducted only after the student has qualified the written test. The student will have two chances to clear DQE Part II. Those who cannot clear DQE Part I and Part II (each in two attempts) will not be allowed to continue their PhD studies at CASE. This will supersede any previous rules on the subject.

How is MM different from MBA being offered by so many universities?
There are two answers:

• Many MBA programs lead to 16 year degrees such as the one being offered by some universities that requires only a two year Undergraduate(Bachelors) degree for eligibility. MM is an 18 year degree that requires 16 years education for eligibility such as either a Masters degree in any discipline or a 4 year Undergraduate(Bachelors) degree.
• Typically MBA is a general purpose degree with standard areas of specialization such as Marketing, Finance, HR, IT etc., whereas, MM is a focused degree with certain specializations useful in actual work environment such as:
• Quality and Productivity Management
• Project Management
• Technology Management
• More specializations to come in future

What is the academic requirement for admission in MM?
This program is open for students who have 16 years of formal education in any discipline from a HEC recognized university.

Is there any work experience requirement for admission in MM?
Yes, two years of work experience in a relevant field.

How is MM different from EM?
The MEM program is limited to working professionals with engineering and computer science/IT backgrounds. MM caters to the professional needs of non-engineers who form a large segment of the society.

Can we transfer credits from EM to MM and vice-versa?
Yes, you can. However, on completion individual degree requirements will need to be met for degree award.

What is the benefit of doing MM?
Management is a highly competitive field that demands command of tools, techniques and management methodologies for improving the efficiency, productivity, and profitability of an organization. In addition, it is becoming more and more important to have a post-graduate degree for promotions and better jobs. The MM degree satisfies both requirements.

What are the coursework requirements for MM?
Students are required to complete 12 courses (i.e. 36 credit hours) for the completion of MM degree. Out of these 6 are core courses and the rest can be taken from the areas of specialization, electives and/or thesis.

What are some of the salient features of MM?
The MM program is enriched by promoting active participation of students in the form of case study analysis, individual/group projects, individual/group presentations, interactive discussions, and supplementary seminars by prominent guest lecturers.

What is the total duration of MM degree?
The maximum duration of MM degree completion is 04 years. However, a full time student can easily complete the degree in 4-5 semesters.

Is thesis option available in MM?
Thesis option for six credit hours is available after completion of any three courses.

What is the fee structure of MM program?
The fee structure for MM is the same as for the M.Sc. Computer Engineering and Engineering Management programs.
