Dr. Kamran is the senior most permanent faculty member at CASE. He specializes
in electronic/digital system design including power electronics and communication
systems. He has 17 years of teaching and industry experience. He has authored or
co-authored twenty-three technical papers, six of these have been published in IEEE
transactions on Power Electronics and Industry Applications.

Educational Qualifications
|
|
M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta,
GA USA in 1992 and 1995 respectively. His area of research was control of power
converters.
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from UET, Lahore

Work Experience
|
|
Dr. Kamran has several years of teaching experience at various levels in some
of the best Engineering Institutions in Pakistan besides multiple years of electronic
system design experience working in industry, both in Pakistan and in USA. His teaching
experience includes undergraduate and MS level courses as Assistant Professor of
Electrical Engineering at the GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology
and later at the Department of Electrical Engineering at E&ME College of the National
University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Rawalpindi. He has worked on industrial
control systems, small to large power electronic converters and digital communications.
He joined Silicon Power Corporation, PA in 1996 where he worked on the development
of next generation power converters for US Navy. He has designed large-scale computer
network systems like the toll collection and access control system for the Motorway
(M2) in Pakistan. He joined Communications Enabling Technologies as VP Engineering
in year 2000 where he led the development of a comprehensive VoIP middleware and
a state-of-the-art packet processor chip. He is currently involved in a number of
projects involving digital image processing and digital communications. He is working
on the development of specialized hardware for networking and DSP applications.
He has worked on industrial control systems, small to large power electronic converters
and digital communications. He joined Silicon Power Corporation, PA in 1996 where
he worked on the development of next generation power converters for US Navy. He
moved to Pakistan in 1997 and started teaching at GIKI as Assistant Professor. He
