Dr. Qayyum is a pioneering faculty member at CASE. He has a vast teaching and industry experience. His areas of expertise are Mobile Ad hoc Networks and Internet based communication protocols. Dr. Qayyum has authored or co-authored more than 25 publications.

Work Experience

Dr Qayyum has been an active participant of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) working group of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) since 1997. He is a co-author of an RFC on routing protocol for MANETs. He has been associated with INRIA, France as a research fellow and worked on Praxitele project under LARA program (French Research Initiative for Automated Driving), on PRIMA project under RNRT program (French Network of Research in Telecommunications), and on IPANEMA project (IPv6 Protocols Applied to Networks in Military Applications) under European Euclid program. Dr Qayyum has worked as a Senior Member Technical Staff at Communications Enabling Technologies for two years, where he worked on the implementation of RTP-RTCP/UDP-TCP/IP stack for a RISC based packet processor. The software stack also included CRTP for header compression, PPP/MP for multiple serial links, IPsec, IKE, firewalls for the security and IP Precedence, RSVP and DiffServ protocols for Quality of Service. He is currently working at Center for Advanced Research in Engineering (CARE) on long-range mobile ad hoc networks and wireless security issues. Dr Qayyum had been associated with various teaching assignments at ENST, Bretagne and at INT, Evry, France. Dr Qayyum has authored or co-authored more than 25 publications. He is serving as research paper reviewer for many journals and scientific committee member for many international conferences.
