Campus Facilities

C@SE is located in the heart of Islamabad which offers a bustling, vibrant and convenient environment to the student community of the institute.

Computer Labs

C@SE offers the most modern computing facilities with over 450 stations loaded with the latest operating systems and software packages. The academic and computer center campuses are networked over 100 Mbps with branded Intel switches. 35 employees working at present including highly qualified, professional & experienced faculty with Doctorate and Graduate(Masters) degrees C@SE has established a fine professional reputation for excellence in teaching and research and has become one of the leading IT institutions of the country. The classrooms are equipped with complete audio-visual tools & accessories.

Internet Facilities

The Internet Facility at C@SE is one of its prominent features. The Institute has its own intranet and a dedicated high speed DSL connection for high bandwidth Internet connectivity. Each student is provided with network access. Fast Internet connectivity plays an important role in facilitating the Faculty and Students for academic as well as Research and Development activities at the Institute. C@SE students avail the facility of free Internet access from 9AM to 9PM in the campus and the e-mail addresses at C@SE Domain are also available to the students.

Ph.D. Cubical

CASE provides PhD cubicles to all PhD students who apply at the beginning of the semester. The appointments are based on seniority and merit.

Lab Reservation

At the request of a faculty member, the computer lab may be reserved for a period of time exclusively for a specific group. During this period other students will not be allowed to work in the lab, even though there may be free machines available. Lab reservation hours will be posted when needed and students are expected to observe them.

Library

CASE has a well-maintained library. The library is open for six days a week till late at night and the students can study in the quiet and comfortable environment of the library. In addition to the textbooks, the library has a host of advanced reference books not only on engineering subjects, but also on basic science, humanities, management sciences, and general reading. In addition, the library also has an electronic section in which complete video courses on a number of advanced engineering and management subjects are available.

Qualified and dedicated staff is available six days a week to provide efficient lending and reference services. All library operations are automated, using In magic DB/Text works Win 95/NT and international technical processing standards. Online databases are accessible from the terminals in the library and the campus networks. CASE maintains books in the library through computerized software to store all records in centralized locations.

Following library material will not be issued and must be consulted in the library:

  • Reference Material
  • Theses Reports
  • Magazines and periodicals
  • All unprocessed material

Timings of the Library are as follows:

  • Monday to Friday (9:00am - 9:00pm)
  • Saturday (3:00pm - 9:00pm)
Digital Library

Digital Library facility is available from CASE library and Computer labs. Access to IEEE Explore enables students to over 700,000 full text documents including IEEE and IEEE journals, transactions, letters, conference proceedings, and standards. This facility is provided by the HEC.

Cafeteria

Campus has cafeteria facilities with a variety of snacks available at reasonable rates.

Medical Emergencies

In case of a medical emergency while a student is on campus, the Center will arrange for the student to be taken to hospital. The Center, however, will not be responsible for the hospital charges. Students should contact the Manager Operations in case of emergencies. Students with serious medical problems, such as asthma and epilepsy, must inform Students Affairs Office of any special needs that they may have.

Photocopy / Printing

Photocopying and printing facilities are also available on campus on payment basis where the students can get printouts from their computers and also get printed material/class notes, etc photocopied.

Telephone Facility

Payphone facilities are available on the campus for use by all students.

Security

The Institute campus has round the clock security staff for ensuring safety measures for the premises and the students. However, students are advised to personally ensure security of their personal belongings inside and outside the classrooms.
