Graduate(Masters) Admissions Eligibility Criteria
Master of Science in Computer Engineering

For the MSc. Computer Engineering program a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.70/4.0 or at least 68% aggregate marks in Undergraduate(Bachelors) (16 years of education) is required for application. NTS test result is compulsory for acceptance to the program. The following degree holders are eligible to apply:

  • B.Sc./B.E. in any Engineering Disciplines.
  • M.Sc. (Computer Science), 4 years BCS, 4 years BIT/BSIT (F.Sc. required).
  • Passing National Testing Service (NTS) General examination is required.
  • The above qualification must be earned in at least 16 years of education
  • The Computer Engineering students not having Electrical / Computer / Avionics / Telecom / Industrial Electronics / Software Engineering degree are required to take the following pre-requisite courses. A student will be required to take four courses out of them. If a student has already taken some of these courses, then maximum of two pre-requisite courses may be exempted upon the recommendations of the admission committee.
  • The prerequisite courses are:
    • ECE4001 Digital Logic Design and Computer Architecture
    • ECE4002 C & Data Structures
    • ECE4201 Signals and Systems
    • ECE4601 Communication Systems
    • ECE4602 Data Communication Networks
    • ECE4501 Control Engineering
    • MATH5005 Advanced Engineering Mathematics
    • MATH4601 Probability and Random Variables
  • Student not meeting the GPA requirement can apply for admission as continuing education student and will be considered for admission if they have a GPA of 3.0 or better in two courses taken as continuing education student.
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering

Following is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission in Master of Science in Electrical Engineering:

  • BSc / BE degree in Electrical / Computer / Electronics / Avionics / Telecom / Communication / Systems Engineering with minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 or at least 60% aggregate marks, recognized by HEC / PEC / NCEAC and Admission Committee, earned after 16 years of education.
  • Passing of GAT General Test offered by the National Testing Service as per guidelines provided by the Higher Education Commission.
Master of Science in Software Engineering

Following is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission in Master of Science in Software Engineering:

  • Degree in any engineering discipline /MSc (Computer Science)/Bachelor in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification with minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 or at least 60% aggregate marks, recognized by HEC and admission committee, earned after 16 years of education.
  • Passing of GAT General Test offered by the National Testing Service as per guidelines provided by the Higher Education Commission.
Master of Science in Information Security

Following is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission in Master of Science in Information Security:

  • Degree in any engineering discipline /MSc (Computer Science)/Bachelor in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification with minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 or at least 60% aggregate marks, recognized by HEC and Admission Committee, earned after 16 years of education.
  • Passing of GAT-General Test offered by the National Testing Service as per guidelines provided by the Higher Education Commission.
Master of Science in Engineering Management

The candidate must have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.70/4.00 or 68% aggregate marks in BSc/BE in any Engineering Discipline (16 years of formal education), Recognized by PEC. Students not meeting the GPA requirement can apply for admission as continuing education student and will be considered for admission if they have a CGPA of 3.0 or better in two courses taken as continuing education student. A minimum score of 50% in NTS test result is compulsory for acceptance to the program.

 
Graduate(Masters) in Management
This program is open for students with 16 years of formal education in any discipline from a HEC recognized university. Minimum of 50% marks, or second division, or a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5/4.0 in the last degree is required. Students not meeting the CGPA requirement can apply for admission as continuing education student and will be considered for admission if they have a CGPA of 3.0 or better in two courses taken as continuing education student. The applicants must have a minimum of 2 years work experience and a minimum score of 50% in NTS exam.
