Eligibility Criteria for Computer Engineering

M.Sc. Computer Engineering:

For the MSc. Computer Engineering program a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.70/4.0 or at least 68% aggregate marks in Undergraduate(Bachelors) (16 years of education) is required for application. NTS test result is compulsory for acceptance to the program. The following degree holders are eligible to apply:

  • B.Sc./B.E. in any Engineering Disciplines.
  • M.Sc. (Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electronics), MCS, 4 years BCS, 4 years BIT/BSIT (F.Sc. required).
  • Passing National Testing Service (NTS) General examination is required.
  • The above qualification must be earned in at least 16 years of education
  • The Computer Engineering students not having Electrical / Computer / Avionics / Telecom / Industrial Electronics / Software Engineering degree are required to take the following pre-requisite courses. A student will be required to take four courses out of them. If a student has already taken some of these courses, then maximum of two pre-requisite courses may be exempted upon the recommendations of the admission committee.
  • The prerequisite courses are:
    • ECE4001 Digital Logic Design and Computer Architecture
    • ECE4002 C & Data Structures
    • ECE4201 Signals and Systems
    • ECE4601 Communication Systems
    • ECE4602 Data Communication Networks
    • ECE4501 Control Engineering
    • MATH5005 Advanced Engineering Mathematics
    • MATH4601 Probability and Random Variables

Ph.D. Computer Engineering:

  • The candidate must possess at least four years of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and an M.Sc. degree (for a total of 18 years of education) from a recognized university in Electrical, Computer, Electronics, Telecom, Communication or Systems Engineering. Any other relevant MS degree under the Electrical, Computer or Telecom Engineering department may also be considered.
  • The candidate must have a minimum CGPA of 2.70/4.00 in Bachelor’s degree and 3.00/4.00 or First Division in M.Sc. degree is required.
  • The candidate must pass subject GRE (International) or GAT-Subject test in Computer Engineering conducted by NTS for admission in PhD Engineering.
  • The candidate must meet any other requirements imposed by HEC for Admission in Ph.D.
  • Admission to PhD program will be made on competitive basis subject to the availability of the Supervisor in the relevant field of specialization.
Eligibility Criteria for Engineering Management

M.Sc. Engineering Management

For the M.Sc. Engineering Management program a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.70/4.0 or at least 68% aggregate marks in Undergraduate(Bachelors) (16 years of education) is required for application. NTS test result is compulsory for acceptance to the program. The following degree holders are eligible to apply:

  • B.Sc./B.E. in any Engineering Disciplines.
  • Passing National Testing Service (NTS) General examination is required.
  • The above qualification must be earned in at least 16 years of education

Graduate(Masters) in Management

  • This program is open for students with 16 years of formal education in any discipline from a HEC recognized university.
  • Minimum of 50% marks, or second division, or 2.5 CGPA in the last degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience.
  • Minimum score of 50 in HEC sponsored NTS exam.

Ph.D. Engineering Management

  • The candidate must possess at least four years of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and an M.Sc. in Engineering Management degree (for a total of 18 years of education) from a recognized university
  • A minimum GPA of 2.70/4.00 in Bachelor’s degree and 3.00/4.00 in M.Sc. is required.
  • Passing the CASE Admissions test.
  • GRE Subject test (or CASE subject test if GRE does not exist) and any other HEC requirement for Admission in Ph.D.
